WHY
The performance of the piano player is affected by the limitations of the instrument,
and therefore it is important for the player to educate himself/herself
on how the piano should feel.

Regulation has to do with setting up the geometry of the mechanism so that it works
correctly and efficiently; regulation is the very thing that gives each piano its feel.
If a piano is not regulated properly, the player will be faced with serious limitations
regarding the performance of the instrument. As a result, concert pianists get
frustrated with "that one really fast passage" they can never seem to master.
A piano teacher may observe that his/her students are becoming frustrated
with piano lessons and quit. It is important for a working piano to be serviced
regularly, having parts changed as needed, so that one can have the
best musical experience from the instrument.

And of course, it is also very important for the piano to be in tune!!
In addition to poor regulation, an out of tune piano can cause
dissatisfaction in the performer, and inhibit the natural development
of a student's musical ear.

Having a nice piano on which to play is a great feeling. This is
especially true when you can feel your creativity being translated
properly through the instrument, allowing for full artistic satisfaction,
and more fun!
